Love and Need

Pursuing ONLY what you need in this life will turn you into a zombie. Life is fun and it's a total waste if you are missing out on it. Your emotional needs will be neglected, and this will effect your relationship with other people. Pursuing ONLY what you want in this life will turn you into a slave of your own desires. You will feel no satisfaction. You keep wanting more and more, although what you already get is more than enough. You will be trapped in an obsession. So, you must be able to turn what you want into what you need. Take a look at children. You might think that the only thing that they have in mind is pure joy of playing. That is true on a certain aspect. But actually, as they play, they also learn. That is why educational games are created, and children actually want to play with them. Because they learn. Because they need to learn. In simple words, they learn by playing. They achieved what they need by doing what they love. So ask yourse

Can You Be Whatever You Want To Be?

*this is about physical attributes Having flawless skin? Being the strongest guy on Earth? Turn your natural hair colour into unnatural ones, like green? With genetic engineering, you can have all of these. But, if you can do something, it doesn't mean you should do it. My friends were having a discussion about using genetic engineering on altering physical characteristics, specifically on the ethics, and how religions effect our view about the ethics and the field itself. I am humbly and gratefully thankful to them for their views and ideas. youtube.com Here are some of the contents that I would like to highlight: 1. Most of us are modifying our physical characteristics, just for the sake of beauty and cosmetics. Of course, you can say that genetic engineering does MORE than altering physical characteristics. But we cannot lie that, when we bring this topic to the society, most of us will be talking about how to use it to be more beautiful. And this is bad. W

When I Lost Myself

In school, I was the charming girl. Teachers loved me. Friends adored me. Not because I am the pretty/hotstuff girl (there are many pretty girls in my school and unfortunately I am not one of them). Not because I am the smart girl (also, there are many more girls smarter than me). If I did not have these character in me, I may be just an insignificant girl in my school. I was an energetic and full-spirited girl. And more than that, I was the one who will motivate my friends. They love to talk to me about their feelings and worries, and I always cheer them up by saying that they should have a dream, live by it, and all of the problems will disappear (a.k.a will be a little easier to solve. As much as you and I want it, no problems can disappear just like that) But, when I enrolled into university, eventhough I have a dream, eventhough I live by it, I became easily demotivated. And I couldn't believe it itself. I thought that I can carry on motivating people forever. So, w

How To Live Your Dreams

Image
Everyone has their own dreams. More importantly, everyone wants to live their dreams. But did they? Most children do. Most young lads are confused with their dreams. And of course, most adults don't. When we were children, imagination was limitless. Slowly, as time goes, we learned that reality wouldn't always make our dreams easily come true. In fact, most of the time, our dreams won't make it. When we were teens, maybe we already had in mind about what we want to do in our lives. But most of our ideas are influenced by so many external factors. Friends, parents, parents and basically other people. So we ended up getting confused of what we actually want. So, when we become adults, we believe that 'dream come true' is just a fantasy and we finally accept our fate, living just to survive and try to find external source of happiness; job, family, entertainment, etc. I disagree with this. And you should too. Notice that I sa
