I Was A Science Student, But Now I'll Be Learning Art

Image
blog.diversitynursing.com I was a science-stream student during my school days. Now, I will be studying art in my university. People around me who hear this, especially the ones who know me during my school days, will give responses like. "Aww, that's a shame. You should pursue science." "What a waste to learn art after all those years of studying science." I do expect people to be surprised, I mean I am surprised at myself too. But, more than that, eventhough they didn't explicitly say it, it's like they are saying I am making a mistake and this choice is wrong. And that makes me really sad. And I have reasons for that. 1. It's never a waste to learn things. No matter what I learn, I enjoy it. I never think every second of my time learning science during my school days is a waste. Learning new things will make you look at the world in different ways, and it changes as you learn more, diverse fields. For example, an athlete who

When The Trees Grow Money and The Soil is Made of Gold

Image
Tonight, as you go to sleep, try to imagine this. Imagine you are waking up from your sleep. Light penetrates your eyes harder than usual. In fact, the whole atmosphere feels so different. You are not in your bedroom, that's for sure. Then you realize, you are in a forest. No, not just any forest. Every single tree, in the forest, grows money. And the soil is made of gold. A dream comes true, indeed. You start trying to collect as many of the valuables as you can. I mean, come on, who wouldn't. Also at the same time, you try to navigate yourself out of from the forest. And you did it! Cheers to you. You have found a road that leads to a town. Maybe you can get help there. But, to your surprise, the trees and the soil at the town are also made of money and gold respectively. And even more surprising, they don't even care. It turns out, whatever planet or universe you are in now, are not running their economy with money nor gold. Just like how you would n

Reasons Why Despacito Is Able To Hit 3 Billion Views

Image
giphy.com I am sorry for being a slowpoke here, but I just found out that Despacito is the first music video to hit 3 billion views. And I thought Gangnam Style, the first music video that hit 1 billion views, is unable to be defeated. It's already down to the third place already. So, why? It is just one of an apparently good song. Why suddenly almost half of the world population are tuning it in? Another fun fact that I found out, is that among 70 top most viewed videos on YouTube, only 3 of them are not music videos. Maybe that helps. Let's see more of the reasons here. 1. They are music videos (okay, I know I'm repeating, I'm sorry, again) There are 2 things on music videos that will surely give advantages in terms of views. Either people really enjoy the video & show it to their friends, or it is a shortcut for people to listen to songs they like. In the entertainment industry, there are a lot of budget spent for music videos, and the results ar

3 Reasons Why Movies Are Unrealistic

Image
One of the things that I am so grateful for is the existence of movies. Regardless of genre, animation or not, maybe virtual-reality movie in the future, I am relieved by the fact that they exist. They allow you to experience new realities, explore new realms and discover new perspectives about things, in the comfort of the movie theater or the couch in front of your screen. But, as much as we want movies to be real as possible, they are not. And these are the reasons why. Take note here that I am going to talk about mainstream, normal, family-friendly type of movies. 1. Miracles do happen in life, but they do not solve problems in reality Unlike miracles that usually occurs in the movies that will usually be the ultimate key to the victory of the heroes, reality does not work that way. Of course, some unexpected things happen in your life, and they may favor you, but that is only an opportunity. Real victory does not occur until you take it and make it helpful to you. 2

Upgrade Our Charity

Image
cartoonstock.com Nowdays, more people are being generous, giving money away for charity. It is a very good improvement. Now it's time to upgrade more. Imagine this. You are walking on the street. Suddenly you see a beggar, sitting at the corner. What will you do? Most of the time, we will probably give some money & then walk away. Now, let me ask you. What if the beggar is your brother? Your sister? Your very best friend? Your relative. You would rush to them, asking what happened. Their house caught up on fire? They lost a job? Their property is stolen? Then you will bring him home, treat him good, and try to help settling whatever their problems are. Most importantly, money would be the last thing in your mind. You see, those beggars that we see down the street, they are someone's father, or mother, or friend, or brother. They are not just there as a 'money-exchange-with-Gods'-rewards' spot. They are a human being with life, just like
