Story of X, Y and Z

Image
123rf.com This happened in front of me. A guy (X) met another guy (Y). Y told X about a medicine that he took, which he claimed to be very effective. X believed him and bought the medicine from him. Then X met another guy (Z). X told Z about the medicine. Then Z told X the very opposite thing from Y. The medicine was not effective and dangerous. The 'effectiveness' that Y felt was actually temporary. Y advised X not to take the medicine. And Z don't want to tell Y about it because Y was doing business with the medicine, so he don't want Y to be offended. I need to remind you here that X, Y and Z are very close friends. So... what should X do? Which one is correct? Believe it or not, this is what happen in our daily life. People all around us keep telling contradicting things. It is hard to do what is right when you don't know the truth. Like most of the people, you maybe also wonder, what will X do? But for me, I wonder more, what kind of attitud

Money is Man-made

Image
123rf.com To figure out why people want money so bad, we need to figure out why it was invented in the first place. Because, obviously, money is man-made. We do not need to know such crazy and complicated history of economy, to understand that before money was invented, we trade things to get things. We give out things to get things that we want. Before money was invented, this is economy. But, as we know, trading things with things can be vague, especially if we want to make sure that we get the same value that we traded. Thus, money was invented. And things became way easier. With money, we still trade things with things. But now it is more accurate, easy and ensure the equality of the value. So, since money is the new way to ease us to get things, humans become greedy and selfish. Logically, the more money we have, the more things that we could buy. So we started to pursue more and more money. This is how we greed ourselves with money. So, every time you feel

Be Smart or Be Gone

Image
123rf.com Surviving in this world is tough. Do we need to be the good guy, or the bad guy? You see, good or bad is something that is within our hearts. No matter how people see you, there is no way for people to decide if you're good or bad. Only you know it by yourself. Even if you commit hundreds of wrongdoings, people can only  assume you are bad. Not decide. And this also works vice versa. If you do hundreds of good things, people will, of course, assume that you are good. But nonetheless, it is only an assumption. So, back to our question, how to survive in this world, let alone being successful? By being good or being bad? Try to think about this. Every time we see a show/movie/etc, villains are always being portrayed as the smart ones. Yeah sure, the good guy will win at the end, but still the villains will look super smart and cool while the good guys are being submissive. The villains' minds are always thinking of plans. While the good guy only plans

Happiness in Us and Others

Image
neatoday.org All of us, want to be happy, right? Thus we tend to think that being happy means finding it within ourselves. While most of the time this is right, sometimes we forget that happiness can be found in others. Maybe we think we will be happy when all of our needs are fulfilled, we are entertained enough, and when we have everything. But what about others? What about their needs? Helping people out to be happy can also bring out happiness within ourselves. Let's not forget that. Of course it is totally crucial for us to take care of ourselves first before taking care of others. But it only takes a little part of this world to take care of ourselves. More specifically, a little part of what belongs to us. I used to wonder, why God created such a world that there are people who are always lacking of everything, even their basic necessities, and in contrast, there are people who are overloaded with things that they own but they don't need. No

Can Adults Like Cartoons?

Image
I love cartoons. I really do. But (most of the) people around me are not pleased with it. Considering I am now a grown-up, a young lady, old enough to become an adult, of course liking cartoons can be a little childish to them. But then I take a look, what do they as adults, like? Scrolling aimlessly on social media. Stalking half-naked posts on Instagram. Following so-called latest trends blindly, without even trying to find out what they are about. Getting obsessed with celebrities. Oh man. Listen up. Humans like things. And humans do have tendencies to be obsessed with something. We've all been there. We like things based on our interests, and our interests change as time passes. So, throughout our life, we had liked something but now we hate it. We had hated something but now we like it. We can also hate or like the very same thing, from the past until now. No matter which position you are, they all show you how your interests change, or not. And thi
