Back in the old days, when we think about a beautiful girl, we will think about a girl with a fair skin, a blond hair and a slim body.
Thankfully, now there are countless efforts of celebrating every women and acknowledging that all women are beautiful. Now, a dark-skinned, plus-sized-body girl with curly hair is also being called beautiful. That's great.
One thing though.
In this modern day, how do women actually show they are beautiful?
By stripping almost all of their clothes and pose in front of the camera.
Unfortunately that is what happening around the world now. You gotta show that you are beautiful, so you will get validation.
Back then, the same dark-skinned, plus-sized-body girl with curly hair wouldn't do this because they were convinced that they are not beautiful. So, why bother? Only girls with fair skin, blond hair and slim bodies would do this. And of course they would be called beautiful.
Today the definition of beauty has broaden. But the way we perceive beauty still doesn't change. We still think that we need to inspect every inch of a girl's body before we can call them beautiful.
To all those gorgeous ladies out there,
You don't have to show you are beautiful. Just know that you are.
You may already know you are beautiful. So why bother trying to convince others?
Whether they are convinced or not, they will look at a girl, and then another girl, and then another girl, while giving out their own comments and thoughts.
These people that you look foward to validate you, are usually those who have little connection and importance in your life. Do you really know what people that you do have connections and importance with will validate about you?
Your personality. Your attitude. They way you carry yourselves. The way you interact with them and others.
Of course, these people also may have their own view whether you are pretty or not. But if you are important and significant to them, this may be the last thing they want to inspect about you.
So focus more on building your own mature and constantly-improving self. There are many more things to focus on rather than your looks.
I'm not saying you should not care about being beautiful and pretty. Keeping ourselves beautiful and pretty can significantly keep us happy and boost our confidence. Just don't bother thinking about it until you get a headache or something. It's not worth it.
You don't need to be the Miss Universe to everyone. Just acknowledge the fact that to the right people, you are their whole universe.
