Alhamdulillah, after months of writing this, it comes to life!

This rap is inspired from what I’ve gone through myself; loneliness & some symptoms of social anxiety (because I’m not gonna self-diagnosing). Ultimately, this rap is just what personally what I want to say to all people around me. Especially to those that I’ve bonded with before, but suddenly being silenced.

Considering of sending these to a few people?

In Islam, Prophet Muhammad encourages us to give salam to everyone possible. At least, in a broader sense, to greet. I remember hearing this & thinking “Saying hi to EVERYONE? How is that possible? We would be tired, of both greeting & replying the greetings.”

But now, I’m the one who desires people to give salam to me. I’m the one who desires people to come to me, greet me & talk to me. Because now I realized, the main focus of the encouragement is not how we should try to greet as many people as possible. But the focus is on building that human connection, with anyone & everyone possible, be it small or big, be it with our most intimate peers or with strangers. That human connection, is far more effective in reducing unwanted behaviors & increasing life satisfaction for everybody.

Because ultimately we are social creatures. We need them.

To those who are lonely, you are not alone.
To those who see us, just say hi.
